Foam is an open-source personal knowledge management system for VS Code built around Markdown notes, wiki links, graph views, and developer-friendly workflows.
Foam takes the VS Code route to knowledge management instead of shipping a standalone note app. It layers bidirectional linking, graph visualization, daily notes, backlinks, templates, and Markdown-powered navigation on top of a normal file-based workspace. That makes it especially relevant for developers who want PKM features without leaving their editor or giving up Git-friendly plain-text notes. It is narrower than a general-purpose note app, but it is absolutely in scope as a note-native PKM tool for technical users.
