About

Dendron is an open-source, local-first, markdown-based note-taking tool built on top of VSCode. It combines the flexibility of Roam-like bidirectional links with a powerful hierarchical organization system.

Dendron helps developers and technical users manage knowledge bases with hierarchical note organization, powerful lookup commands, and schema validation. Features include hierarchies with flexible taxonomies, note references and transclusions, backlinks and graph visualization, publishing to static sites, vaults for organizing different projects, pod system for import/export, and rich markdown support. Built as a VSCode extension, it leverages the full power of the VSCode ecosystem while keeping your notes in plain markdown files under version control.
