About

Blinko is an open-source, card-style note app for quickly capturing short thoughts in Markdown and finding them again with AI-powered (RAG) search. You can self-host it with Docker for free or use the managed Blinko Cloud service.

Blinko is built around fast capture: you jot down short ideas as cards and later turn the ones worth keeping into full notes, organized with nested tags and folders. Notes are stored as plain text with Markdown formatting, and an AI layer based on retrieval-augmented generation lets you ask questions of your notes in natural language, expand or polish selected text, and chat with your knowledge base using your own AI provider keys. Other features include file attachments, a "random walk" through old notes for resurfacing ideas, a plugin marketplace, a public blog for publishing selected notes, and a REST API. The open-source edition (GPL-3.0) is deployed with Docker on your own server, or one-click via PikaPods, and has a public demo. Desktop and mobile clients built with Tauri are available for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows and Android, and the project README also lists Linux support; an iOS app is listed as upcoming. A managed Blinko Cloud service at app.blinko.space offers a free tier and paid plans with more storage, custom domains, a CLI and developer API. The project started in October 2024, has more than 11,000 GitHub stars and shipped version 1.8.8 in June 2026.
