VideoAnt is a free, web-based video annotation tool from the University of Minnesota that lets etudiants et educators add time-stamped comments et threaded discussions directly on videos.

VideoAnt is a collaboratif video annotation platform developed by the University of Minnesota's College of Education et Human Development. Users add text annotations at specific timestamps along a video's timeline, et each annotation becomes a threaded conversation where multiple participants can reply et discuss. Videos can be sourced from YouTube (public or unlisted), MP4, MOV, or any publicly accessible HTML5 video. The Ant Farm dashboard organizes all annotated videos ('Ants') in one place. Annotations can be exported in multiple formats et annotated videos can be embedded in websites or LMS platforms. Privacy controls let instructors make Ants public or private avec view-only or full-annotate sharing links. Sign in avec a University of Minnesota ID, Google account, or as a guest avec limited features. Entirely browser-based avec responsive design — pas de installation required. Active since 2014 et still maintained in 2026.
