OmniOutliner is a long-running outlining app from The Omni Group for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro. It organizes information in unlimited nested rows with notes, checkboxes and, in the Pro edition, typed columns, styles and filters.
OmniOutliner has been one of the reference outliners on the Mac since 2000. Version 6 brings a single universal license across Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, a Liquid Glass design, Dynamic Themes that follow Dark Mode, and Omni Links that point to whole documents or specific rows and can be shared with other OmniOutliner 6 users. The Essentials edition offers a focused interface with unlimited outline levels, row checkboxes, notes, drag and drop and built-in themes. The Pro edition turns outlines into lightweight structured documents with multiple columns of different types (pop-up lists, checkboxes, numbers, dates and durations), saved filters, customizable styles and row numbering, and Omni Automation JavaScript plug-ins that can call Apple Intelligence on supported devices; Shortcuts actions are available on every platform. It is used for drafting talks and papers, planning projects, building checklists and keeping structured research notes. OmniOutliner can be bought as a perpetual license per major version or as an annual subscription that always includes the latest Pro version, with a free 14-day trial. Version 6.3 (September 2026) added compatibility with macOS 27 and iOS 27.
