Noteshelf is a handwriting-first note-taking app for iPad, iPhone, Mac, Android and Windows. It combines realistic pens, PDF annotation, audio recording, 200+ templates and Noteshelf AI for summarizing and converting handwritten notes.
Noteshelf, made by Singapore-headquartered Fluid Touch since 2011, is one of the longest-running digital handwriting apps and the current flagship is Noteshelf 3. It is built around the feel of pen and paper: realistic pens and highlighters, accurate shape, line and arrow drawing, and notebooks with customizable covers, stickers and emojis. Handwriting is searchable and can be converted to typed text, and you can annotate PDFs and web clips with highlights, underlines and sticky notes, or edit, crop and write on images (with built-in Unsplash and Pixabay stock photos). Lectures and meetings can be recorded with audio playback, including from an Apple Watch. More than 200 templates cover journals, planners, to-do lists and meeting notes. Noteshelf AI can generate handwritten notes on a topic, summarize pages, translate text and explain complex terms. Noteshelf 3 is free to use with limits; Premium unlocks unlimited notebooks, handwriting recognition and search, and digital diaries. On Apple platforms Premium is sold as a subscription, while the Android listing describes it as a small one-time fee. A Windows version (listed as Noteshelf in the Microsoft Store) syncs through Google Drive. Schools and businesses can deploy Noteshelf 3 through Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager.
