Lattics is a desktop knowledge management and writing app for theses, reports and novels that combines Zettelkasten-style cards with outlines, mind maps, timelines and graphs. It adds academic tools such as citations, a Zotero plugin, PDF translation and OCR.
Lattics is designed around the idea that writing should follow how the brain connects ideas rather than a single linear document. Ideas are captured as cards in a card library with bi-directional links and hierarchical tags, then dragged into projects where they are arranged in a flexible outline and assembled into articles. The same material can be viewed as a mind map, timeline or graph, and features such as sequential reading, bi-article comparison and multiple windows help with large writing projects. For academic work it generates citations and bibliographies in thousands of CSL styles, integrates with Zotero through an official plugin, and includes a math equation editor, interactive tables and charts, flashcards with spaced repetition statistics, and goal tracking. Pro adds PDF translation that preserves the original layout (92 languages), OCR of papers, tables and formulas, exports to PDF, DOCX and images, and custom themes, while an AI assistant helps with translation, proofreading, rewriting and research. Lattics stores data locally first with full-library backup and optional end-to-end encrypted cloud sync. It runs on macOS and Windows, with a companion iOS/iPadOS app mainly for viewing and editing, and is developed by Aura Marker Studio Co., Ltd., the Chinese studio behind the Zine writing app.
