Kosmik was a visual workspace for macOS and Windows that combined an infinite canvas, a built-in web browser, and AI auto-tagging to collect images, links, notes, and files into moodboards. The Paris-based company is winding down the product and has closed new sign-ups.
Kosmik positioned itself as a visual knowledge tool for designers, researchers, and creatives: an infinite canvas where you drop images, PDFs, videos, web pages, and text notes, organize them into workspaces and nested 'universes', and arrange them freely as moodboards. Its standout feature was an embedded web browser that let you capture pieces of pages straight onto the canvas, paired with AI that automatically tagged saved items to build a searchable asset library and an AI asset finder. Later versions (Kosmik 3, introduced in October 2024) added frames, drawing tools, presentation mode, real-time collaboration, a Chrome web clipper, and a non-spatial view for people facing 'empty board syndrome'. Desktop apps were offered for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows (x64 and ARM). Kosmik was built by Lithium Media, a Paris company led by Paul Rony. In 2026 the company announced it was winding down: the official site now states that sign-ups are closed and that existing users can still download the app and access their accounts to export their workspaces and data.
