About

Augenblick is an ADHD-friendly desktop note app where notes auto-expire after a configurable period, keeping your workspace clutter-free and your mind focused on what matters now.

Born from the frustration of untitled documents and never-organized notes, Augenblick assumes notes are temporary by default. Each note gets a configurable lifespan (6 hours to 30 days, default 7 days) with a color-coded expiry ring that shows remaining time at a glance. Up to 5 important notes can be pinned to prevent expiration. Notes start as drafts and must be explicitly saved β€” encouraging intentional writing over hoarding. A 30-day trash buffer catches anything deleted or expired, so nothing is truly lost. The Tiptap-powered Markdown editor supports syntax-highlighted code blocks, tables, task lists, and images. A command palette (⌘K) and rich keyboard shortcuts (⌘N new, ⌘P pin, ⌘S save) keep everything fast. Runs as a menu bar tray app with quick access to pinned and recent notes. Built with Tauri (Rust), React 19, and SQLite β€” fully local, zero cloud, zero tracking. Drag-and-drop note reordering and an auto-updater round out the experience.
